
Wol Balston
An award-winning communications professional with a background in arts, publishing, public relations and advertising, Wol co-founded Flint Culture in 2009 before going on to open offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Istanbul and Dubai. Working across the agency’s arts, culture and luxury accounts, he has directed high-profile promotional campaigns for a diverse range of clients from art fairs and festivals to galleries, museums, international cultural institutions and major corporate and government-related arts-based initiatives.
Based in Dubai and working across the MENA region, Wol has developed high level cultural and communications strategy campaigns for a range of government departments, such as the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi or the Ministry of Culture in Saudi Arabia. He has led promotional campaigns for cultural institutions and organisations such as Dubai Design Week, the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre in Kuwait or the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi; as well as working on a variety of cultural tourism briefs, including campaigns with the Jeddah Historic District, the Royal Commission of Al Ula, and the Heritage Commission in Saudi Arabia.
Formerly a Board Member of the Authors’ Club, Wol has also written for The Week magazine and worked on the online news teams of The Daily Mail and The Telegraph.
