The Folio Society releases new collection and opens submissions for the Folio Book Illustration Award
The Folio Society, the independent publisher of beautifully crafted editions, has released its new Spring Collection. The Folio Society publishes classic and cult stories with specially commissioned illustrations, handcrafted bindings and introductions from leading authors and cultural figures. The new collection features titles across a variety of genres, including crime, sci-fi, history and travel, from Agatha Christie’s The Pale Horse to Paul Theroux’s The Old Patagonian Express.
The publisher also recently announced the opening of the second edition of the Folio Book Illustration Award, which provides a platform for talented illustrators from around the world. This year’s Award calls for submissions illustrating Ursula K. Le Guin’s short story The Fliers of Gy. The judging panel includes Evangeline Gallagher, the winner of last year’s top prize, who has since secured a number of new commissions for clients including Peachtree Publishing.
The Award is open to illustrators, student or professional, who have not previously been commissioned by The Folio Society and closes on 19th April 2023. A longlist of 20 entries, selected by the judging panel, will be exhibited on The Folio Society website from 23rd May 2023 with the five runners-up and winner announced online on 29th June 2023.
