Ten editions by The Folio Society shortlisted for the 2023 British Book Design and Production Awards
The Folio Society, the independent publisher of beautifully crafted editions, has been recognised by the British Book Design and Production Awards with ten of its titles shortlisted across five different categories. Folio collaborates with British printers and craftspeople, employing their unique skills and ensuring that traditional book-making techniques continue to thrive. The publisher is unique in supporting a wide-ranging roster of artists, commissioning 32 illustrators in 2023.
Four out of five titles shortlisted in the Literature category are by The Folio Society, whilst their limited edition of The Tale of Peter Rabbit, introduced by Emma Thompson, is shortlisted for Best British Book. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 24th January 2024.
The news comes ahead of the release of The Folio Society’s Christmas collection. Released on 10th October, it features titles across a variety of genres from Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah to Antonia Fraser’s feminist history The Six Wives of Henry VIII. Children’s classics including Diana Wynne Jones’s Charmed Life and Clement C. Moore’s The Night Before Christmas, celebrating its 200th anniversary this year, are also included.
