MUBI enhances international presence with the acquisition of The Match Factory
MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company, has recently acquired the award-winning sales and production companies The Match Factory and Match Factory Productions. MUBI’s acquisition of the Germany-based sales and production group will support the film streaming service’s mission to offer a unique collection of independent and arthouse films to audiences worldwide.
Flint Culture has provided sector-specialist communications consultancy to MUBI Turkey since January 2021, with a brief to enhance the film streaming service’s brand awareness, brand perception and audience engagement through an operational remit encompassing media relations, marketing advisory and promotional partnerships.
The campaign delivered by our Istanbul office has to date secured more than 1,400 items of press coverage, reaching an audience of over 35 billion. A brand partnership programme has been developed with prominent cultural organisations, media platforms, social influencers and lifestyle brands including Socrates Magazine, Ekşisözlük & Pena, Flu TV and OMM – Odunpazari Modern Museum. Marketing strategy development, media planning and media buying secured prime out of home advertising sites for MUBI Turkey across Istanbul’s transport network and retail centres and reached around 1,5m audiences in two months.
Flint Culture’s integrated, multi-channel communications campaign delivered a 100% increase in regional MUBI subscriptions within the first 12 months.
