Lumiere to illuminate Durham with works by international artists and UK’s creative public
Lumiere, the UK’s leading light art festival, will return later this year, illuminating the city of Durham from 18 – 21 November.
Previous editions of Lumiere Durham have attracted over 1 million visitors. This year’s programme will feature new commissions from international artists designed for key landmarks in the city. Alongside these artists, Lumiere will showcase artworks designed and created by members of the UK public. BRILLIANT, a £50,000 nationwide commissioning scheme, invites up to six winners to realise their creative vision for a new piece of light art with mentoring support from producers Artichoke. The competition is now at the stage of selecting its shortlist and the winners will be revealed in Spring
