London Art Fair returns in April
The London Art Fair will return to the Business Design Centre in Islington from the 20-24th April 2022. The fair brings together over 100 galleries from around the world with a focus on modern and contemporary art, including work by some of the world’s most renowned artists across a variety of media, including Henry Moore, David Hockney, Bridget Riley and Paula Rego.
Also returning to the fair are the curated sections Photo50, Platform and Art Projects. For Photo50, the fair’s exhibition of contemporary photography, curator Rodrigo Orrantia will be presenting ‘No Place Is An Island’, which poses the question of what it means to be an island, whether that is geographically or referring to the medium of photography itself. Elsewhere, Platform, curated by Candida Stevens, has invited galleries to respond to the theme of ‘music and its role in contemporary visual art’ in any way they see fit.
This year the fair’s museum partner will be the New Hall Art Collection, the largest collection of art by women in Europe. The New Hall Art Collection’s exhibition will be entitled ‘Myth-Making and Self-Fashioning: Women Artists from the New Hall Art Collection’, and will showcase highlights from their collection, featuring world-renowned artists such as Maggi Hambling, Eileen Cooper, Miriam Schapiro, Tracey Emin and Paula Rego.
Visitors to the fair will also have the opportunity to attend an inspiring programme of talks, panel discussions and artists insights throughout the week.
