House of Music Hungary — New home for European music opens in Budapest
This week the House of Music, Hungary, a new cultural institution intended to celebrate the history of music and its importance to Hungarian culture, opened in Budapest. The House has been launched as part of the Liget Budapest Project, the largest cultural development in Europe.
Sou Fujimoto Architects have used glass panels to create a completely translucent building that blurs boundaries between indoor and outdoor space, alongside a grand undulating roof structure punctured with 100 crater-like holes which allow trees to slip through whilst channelling light into the bottom level of the building.

Andy Warhol’s Silver Clouds installation creates an immersive experience born out of the artist’s interest in innovation and experimentation.
First shown in April 1966 at Leo Castelli Gallery in New York City, this work was developed with engineer Billy Klüve. Heralded a meaningful shift in Warhol’s creative practice, the floating metallic balloons are inflated with a proprietary mixture of air and pure helium, enabling them to float mesmerizingly in the space between the floor and the ceiling.
From 1962 to 1967, Warhol ran “The Silver Factory: as his artistic studio. The colour silver is of great significant to the artist as it represents the past as well as the future.
