Flint Culture Director appointed as Brent London Borough of Culture 2020 trustee
Flint Culture founding director Digby Halsby has been appointed as a trustee to Metroland Culture, a charity that has been established to deliver Brent’s year as the London Borough of Culture.
Brent 2020 will present high profile cultural events throughout the year across the borough exploring the spirit and creativity of Brent, with hundreds of local residents taking a leading role in shaping the programme.
Highlights include work from internationally-acclaimed author Zadie Smith, a new anthem for London, a takeover of Harlesden by Brent’s reggae pioneers, a mile-long summer street party on the Kilburn High Road and an opening spectacle culminating on the steps of Wembley Stadium.
After 2020, Metroland Culture will also extend the London Borough of Culture’s existing support programmes for young people, artists, Community Advisors and teachers to those in boroughs that border Brent.
