
Firsts, London’s Rare Book Fair announces 2022 programme
Extraordinary examples of ‘Banned Books’ will be on display at the 2022 edition of Firsts, London’s Rare Book Fair, commemorating the 100th anniversary of James Joyce’s Ulysses. The fair, organised by the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association, will return to the Saatchi Gallery from 16-18 September.
Exhibitors will present some of the most fascinating censored books throughout history, offering a unique chance to see and buy a piece of literary history. Some of the famous ‘Banned Books’ on display at the fair include a first edition of Nicolas Copernicus’s De revolutionibus orbium coelestium, a signed first edition of D. H. Lawrence’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover and the first Russian translation of Karl Marx’s Das Kapital.
