Artist Michelle Poonawalla launches a new series of digital films exploring climate change and scarce water resources
UK and Indian based artists Michelle Poonawalla has recently launched a series of digital films exploring climate change and scarce water resources. The works have been developed as an accessible and engaging format and are available to view on the artist’s Youtube platform.
Poonawalla is well known for her digital practice and the series of films follow the exhibition of her digital video the Circle of Life at the Mediations Biennale in Poland late last year. The 3 minutes 36 second film takes the viewer on a journey through their subconscious mind, encouraging them to identify their memories and address how the elements in the film and real-life effect and challenge these memories.
Alongside her digital films Poonawalla is continuing to exhibit more traditional work across Indian and internationally including a series of paintings currently on show at Tao Art Gallery in Mumbai and a series of works on paper at 079 Stories Gallery in Ahmedabad.
