Artichoke presents Sanctuary, a Covid memorial by David Best
In May 2022 Artichoke will present Sanctuary, a unique public memorial to commemorate the nation’s loss during Covid. Situated in Bedworth’s Miners’ Welfare Park, the temporary structure will be open to leave messages and mementoes, providing a space for the public to unite in memory.
On Saturday 28 May, the 22m high memorial will be set alight, with the burn acting as a symbol of rebirth. The intricately carved wooden structure will be created by the Burning Man artist David Best in collaboration with members of the local community.
