Launch party for Darren Waterston’s exhibition ‘Filthy Lucre’ at the V&A Museum

Flint attended the launch party for American artist Darren Waterson’s exhibition ‘Filthy Lucre’ at the V&A Museum ahead of its public opening on Saturday 25 January. In attendance with the artist were Tristram Hunt, Director of the V&A, James Robinson, Keeper of Sculpture, Metalwork, Ceramics & Glass, the actress Gillian Anderson, playwright Peter Morgan, and fashion designer Bella Freud and many more.

Filthy Lucre presents a detailed reimagining of James Abbott McNeill Whistler’s sumptuous Peacock Room in which Waterston has faithfully recreated each of the room’s individual elements with a twist. The installation runs until 3 May, and will tour to The Hunterian, University of Glasgow, for Whistler: Art and Legacy from 11 June –until 4 October 2020.
