Venice Art Biennale, ‘My East is Your West’

Flint co-directed the public relations campaign for the 2015 Venice Art Biennale exhibit ‘My East is Your West’, an official collateral event representing both India and Pakistan in collaboration with a controversial but highly anticipated exhibition from leading artists Rashid Rana (Pakistan) and Shilpa Gupta (India), initiated and facilitated by the Gujral Foundation in India. Working with the concept commissioner Feroze Gujral and the curatorial advisor Natasha Ginwala, Flint promoted not just the exhibition itself, but six months of pre-Biennale events and programming across the Middle East, New York and South Asia, raising the profile of the artists and curators across the globe and in particular to new audiences throughout South Asia.

A sustained level of feature coverage, profile interviews and news items ensured a significant level of media buzz and industry attention, resulting in high attendance and a general consensus that ‘My East is Your West’ was one of the strongest exhibits and a top recommendation for any visitors to the Biennale. The South Asian outreach alone garnered over 140 pieces of coverage, providing over 300 million Opportunities To View.
