Rampa Istanbul

Rampa Istanbul is one of the city’s most important and influential commercial art galleries.  Established by art collectors Arif and Leyla Suyabatmaz in 2005, the gallery champions the careers of some of Turkey’s most established contemporary artists and emerging creative talents.

Flint began working with Rampa Istanbul in July 2015, acting as its external press office and advising the gallery in areas of public relations, logististics and event management.  Flint’s wide-ranging promotional remit included managing all national and international press activity around Rampa’s exhibitions programme and portfolio of represented artists, overseeing the gallery’s social media channels and coordinating a series of Rampa International newsletters.

For the opening of Democratic Luxury, a retrospective show by Turkish artist Hüseyin Bahri Alptekin which opened at the gallery during the vernissage week of the 13th Istanbul Biennial, Flint organised and oversaw a press conference which drew more than 40 journalists from 10 countries and delivered extensive media exposure.  “Coming more than seven years after Alptekin’s death, “Democratic Luxury” remembered and celebrated an artist whose legacy is still central to the Turkish art scene today.” (H.G Masters, Art Asia Pacific)

The 2015 promotional campaign directed by Flint delivered extensive regional, national and international press coverage, with 120 pieces of coverage across print and digital media.  The Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE) of print coverage secured by Flint on behalf of Rampa Istanbul totalled over $500,322.

A rolling programme of tightly focused national and special interest press campaigns accessed a diverse range of audiences and significantly increased visitor numbers to the Gallery compared to 2014.  Flint’s responsibility for Rampa’s social media channels (July-Oct 2015) resulted in an 84% increase in Instagram followers.
