‘An English Room’ by Derry Moore, Prestel

Prestel, one of the world’s leading illustrated book publishers, engaged Flint in June 2013 for a four-month promotional campaign to launch a new illustrated book by acclaimed photographer Derry Moore. The book, An English Room, featured a series of newly commissioned portraits of the UK’s most revered figures from the world of art, fashion, literature and theatre, with each photograph accompanied by first-person text explaining the sitters’ choice of location.

Flint leveraged the previously unpublished photographs to secure two significant serialisation deals which ran concurrently in ELLE Decoration and in the Mail on Sunday’s lifestyle supplement, Event Magazine.  Large format illustrated features, reviews and product mentions across a wide range of UK media sectors were supplemented by wide-ranging digital exposure and international coverage.

The media campaign was supported by a high-profile launch event at the Quintessentially Ballroom in central London, attended by VIPS, journalists and key representatives of the publishing industry.

In total the campaign directed by Flint for An English Room delivered 138,160,524 million Opportunities To View, ensuring that the title became one of Prestel’s most successful publications of 2014.

“Flint’s campaign for Derry Moore’s book of portraits of prominent people in stunning interiors, An English Room, was slick and comprehensive. Its impact was so vast, it even drew reluctant praise from our competitors and art book publishing moguls around the world. It was deeply satisfying to be complemented by industry leaders on a PR campaign, especially one which was such great fun to work on. I would not hesitate to recommend this dynamic, energetic, proactive team of talented professionals to anyone in the arts or publishing looking to beef up their marketing muscle and energise their promotional pull.”   Andrew Hansen, Managing Director, Prestel Publishing Limited
