The Art & Antiques Fair, Olympia

Flint was engaged by Clarion Events to develop and implement a communications strategy for the 2014 Olympia International Art and Antiques Fair.  Established as London’s longest-running art and antiques fair, the brief involved strengthening the Olympia brand, consolidating its market position and developing its profile amongst new cultural consumers and international audiences.

Central to Flint’s promotional strategy for OIAAF 2014 was the programming of a comprehensive schedule of public events, featuring leading authorities from some of the UK’s most prestigious cultural institutions including the V&A, National Portrait Gallery and Highclere Castle, as well as high-profile authors and interior designers.  In addition to providing valuable news angles for media engagement, these events served to attract to a broad range of new audiences and interest groups to the fair whilst adding genuine value to the visitor experience.

A suite of media partnerships was secured across distinct media sectors, and promotional partnerships were negotiated in sectors including Hotels, Holidays, Education, Insurance and Lifestyle.  In addition, reciprocal contra-marketing opportunities were negotiated with the marketing teams of leading cultural brands including the Courtauld Gallery, the Dulwich Picture Gallery and the Fitzwilliam Museum.

The development and activation of the OIAAF 2014 talks programme and promotional partnership portfolio was integrated into an international media engagement campaign, which delivered over 120 pieces of meaningful, high-value press coverage across a wide media spectrum.

“From the initial brief Flint clearly understood our business objectives and they were creative and proactive in their approach to the campaign.  They delivered a high level of quality coverage covering all sectors of our market. They are a great team to work with – hard-working, committed, enthusiastic and fun too!”
