Case Study
Jitish Kallat’s permanent public sculpture in Austria

For a unique permanent public installation project, rare for Indian artists on the international scene, Flint was engaged by both Jitish Kallat, leading Indian contemporary artist and former Kochi-Muziris Biennale Director, and his representing galleries Nature Morte (Delhi) and Chemould Prescott Road (Mumbai) to promote, at short notice, his public installation Here After Here After Here in Austria. The 56ft work was installed as part of a large-scale public artwork initiative conceived by a consortium of regional municipalities to promote independent development of the region.

With only four days until the launch, Flint mounted an immediate national and international campaign promoting both Jitish and the installation. By working in close liaison with the artist, Flint were able to turn around a series of feature interviews and news pieces within the space of one week, resulting in comprehensive coverage across the national newspapers, magazines and online as well as a range of international publications.

“It was a pleasure working with Flint during the public unveiling of my permanent sculpture in Austria titled “Here After Here After Here” in Oct 2015. During that fortnight I was committed to be in six cities in Europe and the U.S, and thanks to the prompt and committed attention of the Flint team, not only did this work receive wide visibility, all the media requests were seamlessly scheduled to flow in close tandem with my tightly drawn up travel itinerary.” – Jitish Kallat
