Assemble’s anniversary partnership with Design Museum

Multidisciplinary design collective Assemble have been announced as the brief setters for the landmark 10th edition of Design Ventura, the Design Museum’s annual competition and flagship learning programme for UK secondary schools, supported by Deutsche Bank.

Each year, students aged 13-16 are challenged to design a product that improves everyday life, with the winning design produced and sold through the Design Museum’s shop. For the 10th anniversary edition of the prize, Assemble co-founder Paloma Strelitz has selected a brief that pays special attention to sustainability, a central concern to Assemble’s practice across architecture, art, and design. At a time when environmental issues are an ever-increasing concern, Design Ventura invites students to think carefully about designing a product using ethical materials, simple manufacturing processes, and a durable lifecycle.
