The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has revealed the 34 winning projects of the RIBA International Awards for Excellence 2026, celebrating inspiring architecture from 15 countries across four continents.

Selected for their design excellence and positive impact, this year’s winners demonstrate how architecture is helping communities respond to climate change, rapid urbanisation, housing pressures and social inequality. Projects range from the transformation of former industrial buildings into vibrant cultural destinations, to climate-responsive homes, universities, libraries and civic spaces that strengthen communities and improve everyday life.

Highlights include Kunstsilo in Norway, where a former grain silo has been transformed into a contemporary art museum; Burnt Earth Beach House in Australia, a multi-generational coastal home built using handcrafted terracotta; Château de Beaucastel in France, a naturally cooled winery rooted in local materials and passive design; and the Bidi Bidi Performing Arts Centre in Uganda, providing a vital cultural hub within one of the world’s largest refugee settlements.

The winning projects are now in contention for the prestigious RIBA International Prize, one of architecture’s highest honours, with the winner to be announced at the RIBA Stirling Prize ceremony on 15 October 2026.

Flint Culture led the international communications campaign for the awards, delivering global media relations and targeted storytelling that celebrated the winning projects and amplified their impact across architecture, design and international news media.
