Held from 22 to 31 May 2026, the anniversary edition of Gallery Weekend Beijing (GWBJ) offered an opportunity to reflect on the growth of both the platform and Beijing’s contemporary art scene. The programme featured a strong line-up of curated exhibitions and performances across galleries and non-profit institutions with a strong focus on showcasing Chinese artists reflective of Beijing’s evolving art ecology.
To maximise the international impact of this anniversary, Flint Culture developed and delivered an integrated communications campaign centred on “long-termism.” This strategic narrative reinforced GWBJ as a trusted platform with a decade-long commitment to advancing contemporary art in China.
In a narrow window of a month, Flint engaged leading international media through strategic messaging, distributed bilingual press materials, and tailored interview briefings for the spokesperson. The team conducted targeted outreach to specialist arts and culture media while coordinating closely with organisers to create timely editorial opportunities.
Flint also curated and managed an international press programme, bringing six art-media journalists to Beijing for an immersive 3-day introduction to China’s contemporary art landscape. The team oversaw schedules, interviews, transport, logistics and on-site support, ensuring a seamless experience and sustained media engagement.
The campaign secured coverage in prominent international art publications, including The Art Newspaper (Hong Kong), e-flux (US), ArtAsiaPacific (Hong Kong), ArtReview (UK and China), Ocula (UK) and Artnet (US), as well as Korean art-focused social media platform Art Drunk.

Flint Culture celebrates Gallery Weekend Beijing’s tenth anniversary
2026 marks the 10th edition of Gallery Weekend Beijing, a milestone from which to look back. As part of Beijing Art Season, the event synchronised the openings of new shows by 39 galleries and 10 non-profit institutions in the 798 Art District as well as sites across the city.
