In September, Flint Culture supported the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) during its official visit to Japan to co-organise a UNESCO academic symposium celebrating a century of Arabic language education in the country.
The event, held at the National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku) in Osaka, brought together over 275 academics, students, translators, and cultural experts for two days of discussion on the role of Arabic language in education and intercultural dialogue.
We coordinated the full itinerary and organised a series of key meetings for the ALC delegation, led by HE Dr Ali bin Tamim. These included engagements with the Waseda International House of Literature (The Haruki Murakami Library), Osaka University, Sekai Bunka Publishers, and the Nakanoshima Children’s Book Forest.
The team also prepared comprehensive briefing materials, arranged professional interpretation across Arabic, Japanese, and English, and managed photography and short-form video production to support ALC’s communications and digital presence.
As part of their cultural immersion, the ALC delegation also visited the Osaka Expo, exploring several national pavilions and experiencing Japan’s cutting-edge innovations in culture, technology, and education. The visit underscored the shared values of knowledge exchange and strengthened the cultural ties between the UAE and Japan.
The visit not only strengthened ALC’s relationships with Japan’s leading cultural and academic institutions, but also opened new opportunities for translation, research, and collaboration on future programming.
Through its strategic coordination and partnership expertise, Flint Culture helped position ALC as a key partner in advancing Arabic language and literature internationally, and as a cultural bridge between the Arab world and Japan.
