Building on the success of our visit to Japan in September 2024 with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre for Arabian Nights: A Cultural Journey Across Continents, a conference held at Tokyo’s Keio University in September 2024 in collaboration with Japan’s National Museum of Ethnology, this visit will foster cross-cultural engagement between Japan and Abu Dhabi while highlighting the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre’s role in advancing cross-border cultural dialogue.
Over the course of the visit, the delegation will visit Tokyo and Osaka, attending meetings with prestigious cultural institutions such as the Waseda House of Literature, the Nakanoshima Children’s Book Forest, and Osaka University School of Foreign Studies. It will culminate in the two-day UNESCO symposium, Exploring Intercultural Dialogue of Japan and the Arab World through the Arabic Language, which marks the centenary of public Arabic-language education and celebrates the significance of verbal communication in fostering Arab-Japanese relations. The conference is co-organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre and Japan’s National Museum of Ethnology, under the patronage of UNESCO.
Through this second visit, Flint Culture will create a lasting impact in the region, establishing long-term cultural and institutional relationships, highlighting the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre’s role in advancing cross-cultural understanding, and celebrating the strength of Arab-Japanese relations.
