Rosemary Chamoun showcases Unbodied in first solo show in Dubai

Lebanese multidisciplinary artist Rosemary Chamoun unveiled her latest solo exhibition, UNBODIED, at Foundry Downtown Dubai in April. The striking collection of oil-on-canvas paintings and innovative fiberglass sculptures explores the unseen forces that shape the human experience.

Opened to the public on 10 April, UNBODIED explores themes of materiality, presence, and spiritual transformation. Created across 2024 and 2025, the exhibition features an impressive array of works, spanning three life-sized sculptures, created exactly the same height as the artist, and oil works, nine paintings, two diptychs, and ‘Big Blue’, a six-piece set stretching over four metres long.

Formally trained as an architect, Rosemary Chamoun’s practice expanded into the artistic in recent years, maintaining an appreciation of space and material sensitivity. Her ethereal capsules drift through atmospheric realms, their contemplative expressions suspended between longing and awakening.

Each colour featured has been carefully considered, with the vivid, velvety reds and deep, cool blues pulsing with primal, emotional intensity. The sculptures, drawn out of the two-dimensional canvases into three-dimensional reality, are magnetically suspended above their bases, seemingly levitating and weightless, challenging perceptions of physicality and presence.

Chamoun’s artistic journey has been met with growing critical acclaim. Her previous solo exhibition, The Secret, at Galerie Janine Rubeiz in Beirut, captivated critics and collectors alike, and the popular appeal and interest from collectors in UNBODIED led to the exhibition being extended into mid-May. Numerous pieces from the exhibition have been acquired by collectors in recent weeks, while other pieces are set to be hosted at an exclusive design venue in Dubai.
