Flint Culture supported the launch of the 13th edition of Sculpture in the City with a comprehensive digital and media campaign, amplifying the reach of this significant public art initiative. New sculptures included engaging pieces such as Kissing Gate by Maya Rose Edwards, an interactive installation that playfully brings a rural kissing gate into the urban environment, and works reflecting on the climate crisis, like Deluge by Hilary Jack, which displays real-time flood data alongside narratives of ancient flood myths.
In the lead-up to the public opening, Flint Culture organised a press preview, which included a photocall and guided tour with Artistic Director Stella Ioannou, providing key media contacts from the arts, culture, travel, and lifestyle sectors with an exclusive first look at the new sculptures and access to several artists on the day.
The media coverage generated from the preview included a segment on ITV News London, photo stories in The Telegraph and City AM, and features in prominent London lifestyle publications like Londonist, The Glossary, and Secret London. Flint Culture’s continued outreach secured additional coverage in high-profile lifestyle, design, and travel publications, including Time Out London, Elle Decoration, Conde Nast Traveler, and The Observer, as well as interviews with Stella Ioannou on BBC Radio London and FAD magazine.
Following the launch, Flint Culture continued its support by collaborating with Frieze Sculpture, the Fourth Plinth, and The Line to promote the third edition of London Sculpture Week, bringing together four major cultural projects to celebrate public art and emphasising sculpture’s important role in shaping London’s cultural landscape.
The digital campaign will continue through Spring 2025.
