Northern Ballet sets new Box Office record

Northern Ballet earned a record £2.03m in net income from ticket sales for the year 2016/17, the first time the Company has surpassed £2m at the Box Office. Sales were driven by world premières of two new ballets developed by the Company, Jane Eyre and Casanova, with national tours of 1984, Swan Lake, Wuthering Heights, Romeo and Juliet and Beauty & the Beast.

Northern Ballet’s 2016/17 ticket sales income from large-scale works saw a 10% YTD increase, with attendance at the Company’s full-length productions increasing by 4.1% YTD to almost 120,000.

David Nixon OBE, Artistic Director at Northern Ballet said:
‘I am thrilled that our Communications department has been so successful in promoting and selling our programme regardless of title. This bodes well for the future possibilities of the repertoire and recognises the creative talents not only on stage but within the Company.’

Flint was retained by Northern Ballet in 2016 to support three new full-length narrative ballets: Casanova, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and The Little Mermaid in a landmark year for the Company.
